Five Director-Level Neurologists: A Small, Senior, Double-Blinded Recruit
Five 45-minute, double-blind interviews with stroke department heads at US centers treating 500+ strokes a year.
A device company wanted to speak with senior US neurologists who specialize in stroke. Its own team would develop the discussion guide and moderate in English. It needed a partner to find and schedule the right physicians.
The criteria set a high bar:
Vascular or stroke neurologists at director level
Based at centers treating 500 or more strokes a year
At least half of their practice dealing with stroke patients
Each interview would last 45 minutes and be double-blinded, which helps keep feedback from senior physicians candid.
Our responsibilities covered the full fieldwork process:
Screener design
Recruitment and scheduling
Hosting and recording sessions on Zoom
Human-edited transcription for the client's internal analysis tools
Honorarium administration
Reporting and analysis were left out of scope, as the client planned to analyze the interviews itself.
Small senior samples like this bring their own challenges. Director-level neurologists at high-volume stroke centers are a limited group with busy schedules.
